What is it that you love about psychology and what has it taught you about people in general?

The main thing about psychology is that it’s subjective as well as objective. Everyone have different experiences in their life and at the same time, have similar traits with others. People are so different from each other yet so similar. Other thing that fascinates me is how our mental and physical health are related to each other. How your poor mental health can affect your physical health and vice versa. Psychology has also taught me how everyone is unique. We learn basics of psychology and behavior but it is really different from the reality. Everyone is unique and have different issues in their life.

What is your go-to tip for dealing with mental health struggles?

My go-to tip for dealing with mental health struggles is to either journal about it or distract yourself by doing things you love such as listening to music, dancing, talking to a friend or doing some physical activity.

What's that one thing you consider to be your secret weapon/ your special tool?

I always use different metaphors or examples from daily life to make them see things from a different perspective and to make them aware about their situation and why they need to do something.

What drives you when it comes to helping people help themselves?

The feeling that I get from helping people. When my clients give me feedbacks or tell me about their progress, it really makes me feel happy. I feel good that I was somehow able to help someone. I know how hard it is to deal with mental health issues and how hard it is to talk to someone specially when there's a lot of stigma and lack of awareness around mental health, so, I really feel good that I helped someone feel better and that people know that I am there for them even if they think nobody cares about them. The potential to make a positive and lasting impact on another's life and the sheer joy of being able to give back, and the satisfaction of knowing that I have made a difference in someone's life is what motivates me to help others.
